The position

By joining the dynamic MAP S.Platis team, the successful candidate will have unique profile building and career growth opportunities in a fast growing sector, working alongside highly experienced specialists and consultants and dealing with a reputable global clientele. The successful candidate will be expected, amongst other, to:

  • Review and evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls and the quality of operating performance of Cyprus Investment Firms (CIFs) with local and EU regulatory framework
  • Analyse Client’s data/information and draft plans for the undertaking of Internal Audit inspections. Inspect the systems and premises of CIFs and assist in interviewing key personnel of the Companies
  • Monitor the existence of policies of the CIFs as required by the Law
  • Assess the level of convergence/divergence of CIFs practices/operations with respect to the applicable legislation
  • Assess data/information/evidence received and report by drafting/composing drafts of an annual Internal Audit Report any major findings and weaknesses along with recommendations on areas which need improvement to the Senior Management and the Board of Directors of CIFs and indicate the level of risk associated with each finding relating to the probability of occurrence and potential impact
  • Undertake sample checks on CIFs’ Client Identification and Due Diligence controls performed towards their Clients

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, Risk Management, Law or other related discipline from a reputable UK university
  • Excellent command of the English and Greek languages, both verbal and written
  • Team spirit, excellent problem-solving abilities and willingness to study and develop
  • Dynamism and ability to deliver results in a timely manner
  • Excellent relationship building and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to communicate with impact
  • Computer literate, including Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel)

On behalf of our client, a reputable CySEC regulated Company with a strong financial performance; we seek to recruit a high calibre professional for the Compliance Officer position, to be based in Limassol.

 

The Position

 

The successful candidate will report to the Head of Compliance department and will be responsible for overseeing the Compliance Function. Duties and responsibilities include, amongst other:

 

  • Establishing, implementing and maintaining adequate Compliance and AML policies and procedures, to ensure that the company is in compliance with the CIF legislative framework
  • Drafting procedures for cooperation with outsourced Service Providers
  • Maintaining and monitoring Suspicion Reports provided by other departments
  • Providing Compliance and AML training to employees
  • Ensuring that the Board, senior management and employees conduct themselves in compliance with applicable rules and regulations and act according to the internal policies and procedures
  • Acting as a channel of communication for clients, regulatory authorities and partners and other relevant third parties
  • Responding to both internal and external compliance enquiries and advising accordingly
  • Assessing the impact of forthcoming regulations issued on national, European and international level
  • Preparing and submitting relevant reports to CySEC
  • Managing ad-hoc projects that revolve around compliance issues

 

Requirements

 

  • University Degree in Law, Economics, Business, Finance or any other related field
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant working experience
  • Holder of CySEC Advanced Certification
  • Excellent representation and communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong sense of professionalism and integrity
  • Excellent command of the Greek and English languages, both verbal and written
  • Excellent Computer literacy (Microsoft Office applications)
