On behalf of our client, we are seeking to recruit an experienced professional for the position of Quality Assurance and Quality Control Manager (QA/QC Manager), to be based in OMAN. The Group operates a Ready-mix concrete plant and a Precast plant at Special Economic Zone (SEZAD) in Duqm, OMAN.


The successful candidate will be appointed to the position of QA/QC Manager and will be reporting directly to the Senior Management and the Board of Directors of the Company. The position’s main duties and responsibilities include, among others, the following:

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • To supervise the laboratory processes and experiments in alignment with the international standards and the quality requirements
  • To liaise with the laboratory, the quarries and the concrete production line in order to ensure the material’s quality


  • To prepare all necessary reports for securing the required quality certificates
  • To coordinate the implementation of all the required experiments in alignment with the quality certification requirements
  • To recognize crucial factors affecting the quality of concrete and take preventative measures
  • To conduct experiments and produce the concrete mixture design of each individual project, to meet the project’s specifications
  • To provide solutions based on each project’s special requirements
  • To log the quarries materials’ properties, detect unexpected variabilities and prevent deviations on concrete quality
  • To be able to take corrective actions in case of unexpected events
  • To keep a structured record of the constituent materials’ properties
  • To keep a structured record of the concrete quality indicators
  • To provide valid and timely advice to the production line for possible modifications
  • To attend meetings with the projects’ consultants
  • To attend daily laboratory processes and concrete production
  • To ensure health and safety in the laboratory
  • To follow the international research regarding concrete technology


  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related degree
  • Minimum 5 years work experience in a similar role
  • Thorough understanding and application of the International standards and Laboratory practises related to the Concrete Business and Concrete Technology
  • Good knowledge of industry practices
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • IT literacy and proficiency
  • Fluency in written and spoken English
  • Self-starting and able to work with minimum supervision with solid decision-making abilities
  • Demonstrated experience of leading, training and coaching
  • Strong Managerial skills and ability to coordinate people under strict delivery deadlines
  • Previous Middle East experience will be considered as an advantage
  • Previous experience on testing, inspection and certification will be considered as advantage
