MGR Human Resources Ltd is a leading, licensed private employment agency and a member of MAP S.Platis Group. We are looking to hire a Statistics Assistant to provide statistics assistance to the Judges of the International Protection Administrative Court of Cyprus (IPAC) in Nicosia.
The Position
The successful candidate will work on a secondment basis for the awarded contract for the Provision of Interim Services to the European Asylum Support Office (EASO). EASO is an EU Regulatory Agency headquartered in Malta whose mandate is to strengthen EU Member States’ practical cooperation on asylum, to support Member States whose asylum systems are under particular pressure and to enhance the implementation of the Common European Asylum System.
Responsibilities
The interim will be seconded under the Cyprus OP and work under the supervision of the IPAC in performing the following tasks:
- Work closely with judges, Court Administration staff, and other stakeholders using effective team member skills to develop and implement protocols for data collection and design.
- Create and maintain timely and accurate data sets, reports, and analyses as requested by judges and Court Administration staff to assist in the efficient and effective operation of the IPAC (e.g., analysis of judicial workload, and production of court reports). Create research data sets of court-related data to support Statistics and Evaluation, and presents results of data management analyses.
- Gather information/data to support periodic and ad-hoc analytical reports documenting activities for the area of responsibility.
- Serve as data liaison between Court Administration staff and other information technology and statistical data-reporting stakeholders.
- Able to prepare, analyse, and interpret data to advise Court Administration staff of caseload relationships and trends in the IPAC.
- Assist in forecasting of court filing data and asylum-related operational data.
- Conduct research into court data systems, to identify inaccurate or erroneous data elements and initiate corrective action; apply statistical procedures and principles to conduct data analysis.
- Attend staff meetings to exchange information and update judges and IPAC staff; attend technical or professional workshops or seminars to improve professional skills.
- Any additional duties as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in statistics, mathematics, business administration, or a related quantitative field from an accredited academic Institution
- Post-graduate degree at any of the aforementioned educational fields will be an asset
- Proven related work experience in data management, processing, analysis and whatever is recommended for entry into the position that would result in reasonable expectation that the person can perform the required tasks
- Proficient use of English and Greek language (both oral and written)
- Computer fluent, including all MS Office applications, and in particular advanced knowledge and practical experience in MS Excel (including macros)
- Experience in analysing – visualizing data using programming languages and/or dashboard tools would be considered an advantage
- Excellent intercultural communication and cooperation skills
- Understanding of the Cypriot migration and asylum context and the CEAS
Remuneration
The position falls in hierarchical Category II and the associated salary is €20,112 gross annually in twelve monthly installments. The position also involves 21 days of annual leave, prorated depending on the employment starting date.
